You got to love it and so many think Tombstone was another hokey western, not so in my book too many great lines. I believe it was Val Kilmer’s best role ever and he is the best Doc Holiday to date for sure. Thanks for breaking down the latin lingo for us I had no idea what was being said.

My favorite scene is Doc surprising Ringo in place of Wyatt for the final draw. Doc had nothing to lose he was going to die anyway and he knew Wyatt couldn’t take Ringo, so he took his place. No audience to wow them on either just two gunfighters doing what they do best. It doesn’t get any better for true western fans.

Doc had many great one liners in the movie; some of which have already been covered, others not. I like the part where Doc is playing cards with Ike Clanton, and he says something along the lines of “Maybe poker’s just not your game, Ike…I know, let’s have a spelling contest.” Makes me crack a smile every time. The part where Doc and Johnny Ringo are going at eachother in Latin is also great. Doc tells Johnny “In vino veritas,” which means “in wine, there is truth,” which means he’s drunk and loose, so he’ll speak his mind about Ringo. Ringo then responds “Age qoud agis,” which means “do what you do best;” in this case, he means drinking is what Doc does best. Doc then says “Credat Judaeus apella, non ego,” which pretty much means “I do not believe drinking is what I do best.” Ringo then says “Eventus stultorum magister,” meaning “fools have to learn from experience.” That’s when Doc gets in the final line in Latin, “In pace requiescat,” which means “it’s your funeral.” It was a pretty slick exchange of words.

Thanks badDawg for stopping by and adding your 2 cents in on “You’re a Daisy if you do” I love your insight into what Doc was saying and I am sure you’re right on target. Doc was very confident and knew he was a great gunfighter so anyone who could take him had to be even greater than himself.

Just thinking more on the “daisy” quote. What happens to a daisy when any kind of a wind blows? It falls appart. I’m thinking perhaps this is why the term “daisy” became associate with being a spineless coward. Just a thought. :0)

Thanks for the comment not too many Tombstone fans around but that’s okay. The term I’m you’re Huckleberry as I stated in my post means I am your guy, I am the man for the job. Doc was a confrontational guy and knew he didn’t have much to lose because he was a dying man. So, he was up to most any challenge, not to mention he was a very fast gun.

I’m a HUGE Tombstone fan. Doc’s one liners in the movie are great! I decided to do a little research because I thought “daisy” meant coward as well. Glad to see that someone finally has it right. Priest Mclane thankyou for finally sorting this out as it seems quite a few people had it backwards.

Now how about “I’m your Huckleberry?”

No problem. I just realized 4 months ago that I love to write. To make money writing sounds even better. I can’t wait to get my personal blog up. Wait until you read all the crazy stuff I will be writing about.

That is good that you are into fitness. It truly helps to make you happier and to get more things done. Ever since I have been training in Muay Thai and Jujitsu, I live a totally different lifestyle now. I don’t smoke anymore, I don’t gas out in 5 minutes of exersice and I lost weight.!

As far as making money goes, develop an authority blog first, then you can make money from that later.
